At the 2009 Amador County Fair Commercial Wine Competition the Carmesi 2007 was awarded the GOLD MEDAL, best of class for red varietal blends. A Carmesi Gala Event was held on May 29th, to honor women and to present the representatives of the two women's shelters, The Resource Connection in Valaveras County and The Women's Center of San Joaquin County with a check for the funds raised from the sales of the Carmesi.
